Fouled Anchor Safety LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the BBQ Wayfinder mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.
BBQ Wayfinder requests access to your device's location to identify which BBQ region you are in. Location data is processed entirely on your device using iOS CoreLocation. Your location coordinates are never transmitted to our servers or any third party. You may deny location access; certain features (territory detection, Big Five Nearby) will not function without it.
BBQ Passport check-ins, saved BBQ places, favorites, and notes you create are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is synced across your personal Apple devices via iCloud if you have iCloud Drive enabled. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
The Pro unlock ($2.99 one-time purchase) is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit 2. We do not receive, store, or process your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs transaction data. We verify Pro unlock status through Apple's entitlement system only.
Optional tip purchases are consumable in-app purchases processed by Apple. We receive aggregate sales data from Apple but no individual purchaser information.
We do not collect:
BBQ Wayfinder has no backend server, no user accounts, and no data collection infrastructure. The App functions entirely on-device and through Apple's iCloud.
Big Five Nearby uses Apple's MapKit framework to search for nearby BBQ restaurants. Apple Maps queries are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Your Passport check-ins and saved places may sync via iCloud if enabled. iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and is accessible only to you via your Apple ID.
All purchases are processed by Apple. Apple's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service govern App Store transactions.
BBQ Wayfinder is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Because we do not collect or store user data on our servers, there is no centralized data store to protect or breach. Data stored on your device is protected by iOS device encryption. iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple.
Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data held by us to request, correct, or delete. All user-generated content (check-ins, saved places) can be deleted directly within the App or by uninstalling the App from your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Material changes will be noted in the App Store release notes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
